Fill in all four boxes and your results appear here.

In short

An AI customer support cost calculator shows what answering questions costs you today and what an AI agent would take off. This one uses only your own numbers: questions a month, minutes per answer, the cost of an hour and the share an agent could answer. It runs in your browser, is free, and needs no sign-up.

How each number is worked out

Plain arithmetic on the four numbers you type, nothing else. Here is every line, in words.

  • Hours spent today = questions a month × minutes per answer ÷ 60.
  • Cost today = hours spent today × the cost of one hour of staff time.
  • Questions the agent takes = questions a month × your share ÷ 100, rounded.
  • Hours it frees = questions the agent takes × minutes per answer ÷ 60; their cost = those hours × the cost of an hour.
  • The plan = the smallest ClearMakes Agents plan whose monthly conversations cover the questions the agent takes: Free $0 (30 conversations), Starter $12 a month (300 conversations), Pro $39 a month (1,000 conversations), Business $99 a month (2,500 conversations). Above that, Enterprise.

Why it starts empty

Published figures disagree too much to trust for your business. Two vendor calculators we checked start the share of questions an AI answers at 20% and at 50%.

BlueTweak's customer support ROI calculator starts its AI deflection at 20% (bluetweak.com/tools/customer-support-roi-calculator); Quickchat's chatbot ROI calculator starts at 50% resolved and $5 per human conversation (quickchat.ai/chatbot-roi-calculator), both checked on 22 October 2026.

What it leaves out

The time it takes to set up an agent and keep its documents current, and the time spent reading its chats. Count those too before you decide.

  • It counts each question the agent takes as one conversation. Often one chat holds several questions, so you may need fewer.
  • Precise answers, on Business, count as five conversations each. The calculator assumes standard answers.
  • Plan prices are in US dollars, so type the cost of an hour in US dollars too.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I work out the cost of answering support questions?

Multiply the questions you get a month by the minutes each takes, divide by 60 to get hours, then multiply by what an hour of staff time costs you. The calculator does this for you.

Why doesn't the calculator fill in typical numbers?

Because published numbers disagree too much to be useful for your business. Vendor calculators start their AI answer rate anywhere from 20% to 50%. Your own numbers are the only ones that mean something.

What counts as a conversation on ClearMakes Agents?

One chat, counted once when it starts. Later messages in the same chat don't count again. The calculator counts every question the agent takes as its own conversation, so it never picks a plan that is too small.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing. Your numbers are kept in this browser only, so they are still there if you reload.

Does an AI agent replace my support team?

No. It takes the repeat questions your documents already answer, so your team has more time for the ones that need a person. Tell it what to do when it can't help, such as pointing to your contact page.

Try it on your own documents.

The Free plan answers 30 conversations a month. Paid plans from $12 a month.
